Premier League Winner 2020/21
Was discussing this yesterday with my old man. To be fair neither of us really give a shit, but it was in a conversation about betting. For the first time in many a year, neither of us could genuinely say for sure who we'd back...the odds are very interesting too, teams who would never have been considered are quite low odds: Everton at 20/1, Leeds 66/1 etc

Who would you back?

I’d like to see Spurs lose the title by 2 points :)

Re: Premier League Winner 2020/21
I could frankly see Spurs getting it.

Kane and Son are quality goalscorers, Bale will likely add something too, and in Mourinho they have someone who knows how to get teams to grind out results at the right time.

I can see Pep at City becoming a saga, and the players switching off. The loss of Van Dijk at Liverpool is very significant and weakens them dramatically (which brings them close to the chasing pack).

If so had to pick the top 3 it would likely be Spurs, City and Liverpool and I could see Spurs edging it.

To be fair City will be a massive 2 points off the top if they win their game in hand.

Two horse race.

The interest will be in CL places and relegation, hopefully we don't feature in the latter.

Only 6 games in and already Man City have been written off. I'd agree Man U look out of sorts and Chelsea will bottle it. Spurs if injury free could have a go.

I'd still put my money on the bin dippers.

In the words of Kevin Keegan, "I would love it" if a few other teams gate crashed the top 6 this season considering what's gone on with them trying to gain more power.

Can see a poor season for Man City in the league. Maybe they will focus on Europe as that is the prize they need with their talent.
Hate to say it but Spurs might be up there challenging. Don't think they will beat Liverpool to the title but Mourinho has bombed out the under achieving and problem players and they are getting results even when playing pretty average. He knows how to scrape results.
Everton good shout for top 4 as well although I think they will fall short.

Think Leeds will be the new Wolves and do very well.
Not been impressed with Chelsea or Man Utd at all. Unless their form improves then they won't do any better than a handful of other mid-table sides. Quite a few teams relying on keeping fitness of key players.

You can’t ‘fluke’ your way to winning a Premiership..

Re: Premier League Winner 2020/21
Ridiculous. Just because Leicester "happy clapper" City fluked their way to the league title five seasons ago, everyone thinks they will do it again.

Liverpool and Manchester City have been streets ahead of the rest for the past three seasons and they will be the top two again this season by some distance.

You can have this for free now. Everton will not be winning the league this season. They won't even finish in the top 4.

Re: Premier League Winner 2020/21
Not just that. They have a decent team, a manager who knows what he's doing, and a striker who is very much in form. They'll need to keep everyone fit and they might well fall away but I reckon they are a decent each way bet at this point in time,

Depends who Liverpool replace Van Dijk with in January. I've seen the last couple of games of theirs and they are not retaining the title as it stands.

If Chelsea or Man Utd had a decent manager they could be in with a shout, but I'll go for City to sort themselves out. A front four of Jesus, Sterling, De Bruyne and Foden should score enough.

Everton look a decent outside bet.

Why? Because they won their first 4 games? Don't get carried away with the hype. The season is 38 games long.

sounds like your mate is bullshitting
no way would the bookies be that generous.

Basically giving you an option to take 20/1 NOW of Everton

If they have he needs to take it and run.

Most open season ever. I see Man City winning and then a plethora of clubs vying for places 2-12. I never thought I'd say it but we may even be up there if we carry on believing in ourselves and playing as we have been.

Man City arevthe only team i can see going on an unstoppable run, so I'd go with them. Think they will get it together eventually.

Challenging times for the bookies and long may it continue. I would expect results to settle down a bit but still with an element of unpredictability. Way too early to see who the frontrunners are going to be, but there are going to be a few surprises, that's for sure.

Re: Premier League Winner 2020/21
No chance we will win it.

I still think Liverpool will successfully defend their title, but Manchester City and Tottenham will push them close. Leicester might be a surprise package again.

As stated, Chelsea and Manchester United have average managers who are slightly out of their depth, so I don't see them or Arsenal challenging.

Everton might make top four but I can't see them winning it.

Re: Premier League Winner 2020/21
Although only 5/6 games in, it does seem very tight at the top. 3 points between 1st and 9th place. Think it will be a lower points total to win the title, than in a lot of other years, which will hopefully bring more teams into [play.

January transfer window being earlier in the season, in term of games played, due to the later start, will make it more important than usual.

Unfortunately Liverpool again, I think.

As somebody said on this ,or another thread, even worse start than usual by the bottom 3 teams.

Amazingly, we're not on the list.

No matter how funny results are at the moment it is going to end up being Liverpool or City.

Once they get in their flow there are no teams that can live with them.

Those two in 1st or 2nd with Chelsea and Spuds 3rd or 4th.

Chasing pack will be usual suspects of Gooners, Man Utd, Everton and Leicester. It would lovely for us if we could be in the chasing pack.

Re: Premier League Winner 2020/21
If i had to chose right now then, Liverpool, but do think the top 4 will finish with at least 1 non "big 6" Club in it, usually by now the big clubs are forming a pack at the top, currently only Liverpool are in the top 8, Chelsea next best in 9th.......

This season is a bit wide open IMO, maybe only 5 or 6 games in but cant say any of the big teams is looking rock solid to make the top 4 let alone win the PL, all have fucked up as well.
